“Rowdy” Roddy Piper, one of the most iconic villains in pro wrestling history passed away today at the age of 61 TMZ reports.
Roddy Piper, whose real name is Roderick George Toombs apparently died in his sleep of cardiac arrest in Hollywood, California. Piper also recently beat Hodgkins Lymphoma after being cancer free as recently as November of last year.
It’s certainly been a tough a few months for the pro wrestling world. In early June, Dusty Rhodes passed away after a fall at his home while this past week WWE distanced themselves from the legendary Hulk Hogan after a racist rant a few years back came to surface.
