With their backs against the wall for the third straight game, the Rockets held off a late Clippers comeback to beat Los Angeles 113-100 in Game 7 advancing to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 1995.

Looking finished after going down 3-1, Houston pulled together a vigorous win in game five and an improbable comeback in game 6 to earn a final home stand at the Toyota Center.

The Clippers though weren’t going quietly.

Down by as much as 20 in the fourth, LA closed the gap to 8 with just under three minutes remaining Trevor Ariza sealed the deal for Houston hitting a three with 55 seconds left to play.

The Rockets now move on to player the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals Tuesday in Oakland while the Clippers are left to ponder what next after a pretty stacked lineup was once again bounced from the playoffs.

A quick note, the Rockets are only the second NBA team to overcome two 3-1 deficits in the playoffs. The last time Houston did it was back in 1995 when they were crowned NBA Champions when it was all said and down.
