Red Sox

The Red Sox have cashed in on one of the most sought after free agents this offseason.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, lefty David Price has signed a seven-year deal with Boston for $217 million dollars. The extra kicker here is none of that money will be deferred meaning Price has tied the Major League record for the largest annual value at $31 million per with his former teammate in Detroit Miguel Cabrera.

So what does this mean for Greinke and that record? Here are Rosenthal’s thoughts…

Well if there’s one thing Dave Dombrowski is good at it’s spending other people’s money. Needless to say aside from Price, Greinke is probably a pretty happy guy this evening.
