Red Sox

The Red Sox acquired one of baseball’s best closers Friday evening in a trade for Craig Kimbrel according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

The 28-year old Kimbrel currently leads the MLB with 224 saves over the last five seasons which includes four All-Star appearances. Last season, Kimbrel had a 2.58 ERA and 39 saves.

Kimbrel also becomes the second Padres reliever traded in as many days.

Thursday, San Diego traded Joaquin Benoit to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for minor-league right-hander Enyel De Los Santos and infielder Nelson Ward.
