NFL

The NFL has seen Bountygate, Spygate, the epic mishandling of the Ray Rice case, trying to undercompensate the players that are dealing with CTE, trying to ban Sydney Seau from speaking on behalf of her father at the Hall of Fame and now deflategate. What amazes me is no matter how much authority messes up there are plenty of folks there ready to excuse that authority. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has shown himself to be a bully, short-sighted and reactionary. These are not the traits of a successful leader.

But Roger Goodell has an accomplice in his haphazard running of the NFL. As the firing of Keith Olbermann shows ESPN won’t tolerate anyone talking bad about their boy. In fact I wonder if Goodell and the four letter network have meetings that solidify how to make the NFL mediocre? Taking the current best team in the NFL, The New England Patriots and finding ways to demonize them.

Brad Johnson and Aaron Rodgers among others have come out and admitted they have altered footballs to gather an edge yet Tom Brady thanks to the constant blithering of a certain network in particular, is the poster boy for cheating.  In fact “Spygate” used to be called gathering film for game day but I digress.

I posted this as my Facebook status and it shows I hold most sports fans in the same “high” regard I hold most Detroit Tiger fans since 2006:

Talking about sheeple,as I posted on another’s post I guarantee you that if Gronk  (Rob Gronkowski) farted in church, it would be the lead on “Sportscenter”, y’all would swear you never, HEVER (Perry Cox voice) fart in church. Goodell would ban NFL players from eating beans on Saturday Night, you would make Gronk public enemy number one because Skip and Reali said so. Megatron (Calvin Johnson) would admit sheepishly that he once farted in church he didn’t mean it but it DID happen. Gronk would be suspended 4 games,  then when a judge overturns Goddell’s incredibly short-sighted overreach, you’ll STILL say Gronk was the evilest person on the planet…

Watch the infinitely superior Fox Sports network, rally to get a real commissioner in the office, but utilize critical thinking folks and realize that just because the commissioner rules with an iron fist doesn’t mean he knows what he’s doing!
