There was no hangover for the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Rays managed kept their momentum going in a 9-0 victory over the defending AL Champion Texas Rangers Friday in game one of the ALDS.

Tampa manager Joe Madden continues to press all the right buttons as well.

Instead of going with more experience, Madden opted to go with Matt Moore who made his only his second Major League start. In that start Moore looked more like a seasoned ace going seven innings allowing only three hits. Oh yeah, this was all done on the road as well.

“I may have looked a little more calm than I was, especially early. The first inning, I had a little bit of nerves and adrenaline going,” Moore said.

“But these guys made it really easy for me, putting up those numbers. Looking up there after the fourth, I think it was 8-0, it was just a matter of throwing strikes and getting out of the innings as fast as possible,” he said.

Game two between these two teams is scheduled for Saturday at 7:00PM ET.
