Portugal defeated host France 1-0 in extra time Sunday to clinch the Euro 2016 Championship.
Eder, who was sold by Swansea after scoring zero goals in 15 games got the game winner deep into extra time as a stunned French team and crowd looked on.
And without Ronaldo who left the game due to an apparent knee injury around the 24′ mark, Portugal may be the luckiest or most opportunistic team of the entire tournament.
Heading into the championship game, Portugal spent the majority of it’s time on the pitch either tied or down.
Tonight was no different.
After getting outplayed the majority of the game, Portugal made the most of their opportunities and turned it on late.
Now they’re champions while the salt on the wounds for France stings even more on home soil.
