New Orleans Saints GM Mickey Loomis announced Friday that his team has offered to pay the $2,500 fine of Nashville’s Shea Weber. Weber was assessed the fine after he punched Red Wing forward Henrik Zetterberg then proceeded to smash his head into the boards.

Loomis said that his team was impressed by the way Weber tried to kill the head.

Weber was grateful of Loomis’ offer but in the end decided to pay the fine himself.

“$2,500 really isn’t a big deal” Weber said, “I have more than that laying around in my bombay chest at home”.

Weber though wouldn’t comment on recent speculation that Vince McMahon of the WWE offered him a one-year deal to join the professional wrestling promotion.
