The Dodgers used four shutout innings from their pen en route to a 5-2 win over the Chicago Cubs in Game 1 of the NLCS. Starter Clayton Kershaw went five innings giving up two runs on four hits before getting pulled after the fifth inning. After LA was able knot the score at two in the bottom half of the fifth, Chris Taylor sealed things up for the Dodgers with a solo home run off Hector Rondon who was added back onto the postseason roster heading into the series with LA.

Meanwhile Jose Quintana was dealing early for the Cubs before beginning to unravel in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Cubs starter ended up going five innings allowing two runs on two hits.
