San Diego Chargers 21, New England Patriots 35
Tom Brady remained hot throwing for 423 yards as the Patriots beats the San Diego Chargers 35-21 to move to 2-0 on the season. Brady becomes the first player in NFL history to throw for 500 yards one week only to follow it by throwing for 400 yards the next week. The Patriots have now also won 10 straight regular season games where they’ve scored 30 or more points.

Dallas Cowboys 27, San Francisco 49ers 24 (OT)
Tony Romo may have silenced a bunch of his critics after week one with the performance he turned in on Sunday afternoon. Romo was 20 of 33 for 354 yards, two touchdowns in Dallas’ 27-24 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers. What’s truly remarkable about Romo’s performance today though was the fact that he did it with a broken rib which he suffered near halftime. Sunday’s performance should keep the critics off his back at least for the rest of the week.

Chicago Bears 13, New Orleans Saints 30
Drew Brees wasn’t going to stand seeing his team lose two straight weeks to an NFC North team. Brees completed 70.3 percent of his passes (26 for 37) for 270 yards and three touchdowns on his way to helping the Saints route the Chicago Bears 30-13 from the Superdome. Bears QB Jay Cutler wasn’t as fortunate. Cutler, who seems to under heavy pressure on a week to week basis Cutler passed for 244 yards and a score, but completed only 42 percent of his passes (19 of 45) and fumbled once on a sack and by Turk McBride.

Green Bay Packers 30, Carolina Panthers 23
It’s looking more and more like the Panthers made the right move in drafting Cam Newton with the first overall pick in this years draft. The rookie out of Auburn had another tremendous game throwing for more than 400 yards against the defending Superbowl Champion Green Bay Packers. However the Packers would sustain and hold on for the 30-23 victory, spoiling Newton’s home debut.

Kansas City Chiefs 3, Detroit Lions 48
Things just keep getting worse for the Chiefs. In week one they got manhandled at home by the Buffalo Bills, later they would lose star safety Eric Berry for the entire season, then the Detroit Lions came along. Sunday, the upstart Detroit Lions simply embarrassed the Chiefs by a score of 48-3 from Ford Field. Now remember when I said things kept on getting worse for the Chiefs. Well the score wasn’t the only bad thing that happened to Kansas City Sunday. RB Jamaal Charles left the game early with what’s now being reported as a torn ACL that will keep him out for the rest of the season. Meanwhile Detroit’s 48 total points set a franchise record for points in a game all while QB Matthew Stafford put up another magnificent performance going 23 of 39 for 294 yards and four TDs.

Philadelphia Eagles 31, Atlanta Falcons 35
Michael Vick made his long-awaited return to Atlanta, this time however with a different flock. But it wasn’t the Michael Vick show in Atlanta, Falcons QB Matt Ryan made it very east for Atlanta fans to move on from their former star QB as Ryan threw 4 TD passes to help his team beat the Philadelphia Eagles 35-31 from the Georgia Dome. Vick on the other hand didn’t have the greatest night. Vick did throw two touchdown passes however had to leave the game after getting spun by a Falcons rusher into Eagles lineman Todd Herremans snapping his neck back as he (Vick) fell to the ground. Vick was tended to by Eagles medical staff and helped off the field spitting up blood after apparently biting his tongue. Philadelphia head coach Andy Reid described Vick’s injury as a concussion.
