Michigan‘s miraculous run through the NCAA Tournament has come to an end.

With seconds remaining in the second half and down by a point, Derrick Walton had the look he wanted from beyond the arc but couldn’t get the shot to fall as Michigan dropped their Sweet 16 matchup to Oregon 69-68.

However in his last game with the Wolverines, Walton once again stood out as their best player on the floor netting 20 points and eight assists. Zak Irvin followed that up with 19 points and eight rebounds.

In the end though Oregon always seemed to be just one step ahead of Michigan.

Up until this point tonight, the Wolverines for the most part were able to connect on their scoring chances, especially from downtown. Tonight however Michigan was only able to hit on 11 of 31 chances from deep while only being able to get to the line seven times. The Wolverines also lost the battle in the paint getting out rebounded by the Ducks 36-29.

Despite the loss Michigan’s run through the Big Ten postseason and then the NCAA Tournament was nothing short of remarkable.
