Mike Trout‘s leadoff home run off Zack Greinke helped propel the American League to a 6-3 All-Star Game win over the National League securing home field advantage in the World Series.

Tigers starting pitcher David Price picked up the win pitching a perfect fourth inning sitting down Bryce Harper, Paul Goldschmidt and Buster Posey in order.

The story of the night though belonged to Trout who went on to win his second straight All-Star Game MVP award finishing his night one for three with that home run and two runs scored. The Angels center fielder also became the first player in All-Star Game history to take home back-to-back MVP awards.

Other notables on the night included Mets starter Jacob deGrom becoming the first pitcher in All-Star Game history to record three strikeouts in an inning while throwing ten or fewer pitches. Reds closer Aroldis Chapman also reached triple digits on twelve of fourteen pitches in what you could assume was a hot gun.
