Kings forward Milan Lucic isn’t a stranger to being a clown on the ice. Saturday night was no exception as Lucic proceeded to sucker punch an unsuspecting Kevin Connauton of the Coyotes on the side of the head during a scrum in front of the Arizona net with about 13 minutes remaining.

The result for Lucic was a two-minute roughing penalty and game misconduct.

Lucic wasn’t happy, especially with referee Brad Meier who Lucic suspects has some sort of grudge against him.

Lucic tried to justify his actions saying Connauton was continually slashing him in front of the net something he (Connauton) was penalized for so I guess that grudge between Meier and Lucic doesn’t run that deep. Not to mention a blindside sucker punch in the NHL has had much worse consequence than a game misconduct. I’m sure Steve Moore and Todd Bertuzzi can tell you all about that.
