Things were chippy during last night’s Red Sox/Rays game from Tropicana field. This was especially the case with Boston starter John Lackey who was jawing at the Tampa dugout throughout most of the early portions of the game.

Things went to another level in the 6th when the Red Sox hurler hit Rays OF Matt Joyce in the back on an 0-1 count. Unsurprisingly Joyce took exception and the benches cleared.

No punches looked to of been thrown just a lot of talking… clearly something that requires the entire dugout and bullpen to get involved.

Regardless Boston went on to win the game 10-8.
