Jets

A day after the fight involving Cam Newton at Panthers camp, Geno Smith and I.K. Enemkpali got into it at New York Jets camp resulting in two unfortunate situations.

Quarterback Geno Smith is now out six to ten weeks while he undergoes surgery for a broken jaw while Enemkpali as released for inflicting that broken jaw.

So what happened that caused the Jets to essentially lose two players?

The details are sketchy but according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, a situation that should’ve been diffused wasn’t resulting in Smith putting his finger in Enemkpali’s face then Smith having his face broken as a result.

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles later came out and said that the fight and sucker punch hand ‘nothing to do with football’ which makes this even better theatre, especially since it’s so typically Jets.

Meanwhile Cris Carter has gone on ESPN saying that Smith was punched after his ‘lack of leadership’ right after stating he wasn’t sure what happened. Typical of the Jets and so typical of Cris Carter.

Finally, Smith posted this picture on Instagram post fight saying he’ll ‘be back’.

ILL BE BACK!

Now Jets fans who were already going to have to sit though a sub .500 with Geno Smith will have to sit through a sub .500 team with Ryan Fitzpatrick.
