The NHL (more specifically the Vancouver Canucks) continue to have a problem with a mumps outbreak that has now spread to another team.

It was reported last night that by Eric Chaloux that Jason Pominville,  Zach Parise and Minnesota Wild  assistant coach Scott Stevens each have the mumps and have been put in isolation for five days.

And here’s CBC with more details:

The Wild confirmed the cases of Parise and Pominville shortly before the game against the Kings. The veteran wings were placed in isolation for a five-day period, meaning they’ll at least miss games Tuesday at Winnipeg and Thursday at Columbus. The Wild said players and staff were recently provided with a measles-mumps-rubella vaccination, as they were early in the 2014-15 season when the virus last made its way through.

The Canucks meanwhile have had five players hit with the mumps thus far as the two teams last played each other back on February 4th in Vancouver. Still though symptoms that can resemble the flu in addition to a swollen neck/jaw and fatigue can take a few weeks to come to a head.

Pominville has been on fire nothing at least a point in 14 of his last 16 games while leading the NHL with 16 assist over that span.
