Maybe Jaromir Jagr meant that his heart was in the state of Pennsylvania and not necessarily Pittsburgh?

On Friday, Jaromir Jagr made his return to the NHL signing with the Philadelphia Flyers after what seemed to be a done deal for him to sign in Pittsburgh. However after not coming to decision on a one-year contract at around $2 million dollars, the Penguins eventually pulled their offer off the table setting up Jagr to sign with Pittsburgh’s cross state rivals.

The 39-year-old Jagr and former NHL MVP says that he took less money to sign in Philadelphia. The Flyers eventually nabbed Jagr on a deal worth reportedly $3.3 million dollars. Jagr however didn’t mention the other teams that were bidding on him.

Jagr went on to say that he believes he has an opportunity to play more with the Flyers and really like the moves the team has made within the past 10 days. More specifically Jagr says that the signing of goaltender Ilay Bryzgalov was a big reason for him choosing the Flyers.

Jagr makes his return to the NHL after spending three seasons playing in the KHL.
