Fireworks erupted on the NBA trade front Monday evening as Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reported a three-way trade (that’s still evolving) involving J.R. Smith and Dion Waiters. According to Wojnarowski, as Waiters was being pulled from the Cavs’ starting lineup against the 76ers, Smith was reportedly on his way to Cleveland along with wing-man Iman Shumpert from the New York Knicks.

For the Thunder, OKC will receive Waiters from the Cavs in exchange for a protected first round draft pick

Finally the Knicks get guard Lance Thomas from the Thunder as well as rookie center Alex Kirk, forward Lou Amundson and a 2019 second-round pick from the Cavs. The Knicks though looking to dump salary reportedly will waive all three players as they look to unload $6.4M still owed to Smith. Additionally the Knicks are also expected to waive Samuel Dalembert whose contract is set to be fully guaranteed if he’s still on the roster come Wednesday.
