IndyCar

One of the greatest Formula One drivers of all-time Fernando Alonso called into the NBC Sports broadcast of the  from the Texas Motor Speedway tonight to chat it up after participating in the Indy 500 two weeks ago. Alonso, who’s prepping to race in Canada tomorrow for his F1 team also may have dropped a bombshell in the racing world seeming to hint that a full-time switch to IndyCar could be in the fold.

This came after he was asked IF he wasn’t able to secure a more competitive ride in the world circuit would he consider moving to IndyCar in which Alonso replied, “why not?”

Alonso, who was very competitive at the 500 before his engine blew out ending his day is currently hampered by an uncompetitive team in Formula One which in that circuit means pretty much everything. Of course he could have just been patronizing the IndyCar announcers but it’s an interesting thought and one that could give a significant boost to the American sport, especially on the World stage.

I still however wouldn’t hold my breath.
