South Africa’s own Ernie Els used an Adam Scott choke job during the final four holes to win his second Open Championship title finishing seven under for the victory.

Scott seemingly had the tournament won after his birdie on fourteen but things started to collapse for him there after. Scott went on to bogey the next four holes including a disastrous approach on 17 in which his second shot went into the deep grass around the green. He eventually had to settle with heading into the 18th hole tied for the lead before shooting into a fairway bunker. This forced him to shoot sideways out and eventually missing his final putt.

In terms of a Happy Gilmore analogy, the ball’s bags were packed, the goalie was pulled all’s he had to do was send it home.

Tiger Woods ended up finishing tied for third at three under but dug himself a big hole early when he triple bogeyed the sixth hole.

Even though it wasn’t Tiger Woods winning, Els’ victory is certainly welcoming for Golf who has had a problem with their bigger name players performing in major tournaments.
