Tebow

Tim Tebow was released by the Philadelphia Eagles Saturday amid plenty of speculation he’d make the team after a promising preseason. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was one of the first to report Tebow missing the cut.

In the Eagles’ final preseason game against Tebow’s former team the Jets, the former Florida Gator threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-18 loss. This also included a nice 18-yard connection with Rasheed Bailey that very well could have been his finest pass of the preseason. Tebow’s chances of making the Eagles suspected to get better after Matt Barkley’s struggles in limited time during his final game in the preseason connecting for only 45 yards and an interception then subsequently getting dealt to Arizona for a 7th round pick.

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly however thought otherwise saying he believed Tebow wasn’t good enough to be the team’s third string quarterback and that ‘he just needs to get out there and get more reps.’ Instead the team would go with two quarterbacks on the roster in Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez.

Unfortunately for Tebow after stints with the Broncos, Jets, Patriots and Eagles it looks like his NFL career is probably over.
