Another Tigers veteran is leaving town as Ken Rosenthal reports that Detroit has traded second baseman Ian Kinsler to the Angels for a package of assumed dog shit considering where Los Angeles’ farm system ranks among the entire MLB.

The veteran second baseman apparently could have blocked the deal to the Angels but in the end waived his right to do so assuming the direction the Tigers are going in 2018 and beyond.

Not that the Tigers should have been expecting much for a 36-year-old second baseman who’s decent out in the field and has a declining skill set at the plate, I guess I’m just a little jaded when it comes to doing business with teams who have little to nothing in terms of young somewhat serviceable talent.

Anyways, there’s no word yet on who’s coming the other way in the deal. Stay tuned though.

Update: The Tigers will receive two prospects: right-hander Wilkel Hernandez and outfielder Troy Montgomery according to Anthony Fenech from the Detroit Free Press. Hernandez is the 24th best prospect while Montgomery is the 20th best.
