The Tigers recall Joe Jimenez and John Hicks from Toledo

USA Today

In the wake of deal closer Justin Wilson and catcher Alex Avila to the Cubs for prospects, the Tigers have recalled reliever Joe Jimenez and catcher John Hicks from Toledo according to the team’s PR reps on Twitter.

It was anticipated Detroit would follow the trade with this corresponding move as Jimenez has once again been tearing it up in the minors after a shaky MLB debut a couple of months ago. So far over 25 innings pitched in Triple-A, Jimenez is 1-1 with a 1.38 ERA, 12 walks, 36 strikeouts and a 1.24 WHIP.

Meanwhile, Hicks has made the most of his time when given the opportunity to play with the big club slashing at .299/.319/.522 with the Tigers through 67 at bats. In Toledo Hicks provided a .269/.281/.428 line over 208 at bats.
