After one of his worst outings of the season, the Tigers have placed reigning AL Rookie of the Year Michael Fulmer on the 10-day DL with an elbow injury.

According to the Tigers’ official Twitter account, the diagnosis is right elbow neuritis.

During his last outing on July 31st, Fulmer allowed a season-high six earned runs (seven total) coming on seven hits and three walks in six innings against the New York Yankees. In fact Fulmer has lost his last three starts giving up a total 14 runs through 16.2 innings which has been his worst stretch of the season.

However despite his last three outings, Fulmer still leads Tigers pitchers with a 3.59 ERA through 140.1 innings. This also includes a 1.126 WHIP and 3.23 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
