The Pistons acquire Jameer Nelson from the Bulls

The Pistons continued to deal ahead of today’s trade deadline acquiring point-guard Jameer Nelson from the Bulls in exchange for center Willie Reed. This according to Yahoo’s Shams Charania who also reported that in addition to the player exchange, Detroit and Chicago also swapped second-round picks in 2022.

Nelson was previously part of the deal that sent Nikola Mirotec to the Pelicans back on February 1st also played for Pistons head coach and team president Stan Van Gundy during the Hedgehog’s time in Orlando between 2007 and 2012.

The 35-year-old Nelson will shore up the guard depth in the Pistons backcourt with Reggie Jackson still shelved with an injury. This season, Nelson has averaged 5.1 PPG with 3.6 APG while shooting .520 and .364 from downtown.

Meanwhile Reed is averaging 4.6 PPG, 2.9 rebounds
