Say what you want about him but it looks like Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is being hailed as a hero today after helping rescue comedian Louie Anderson on the set of the diving reality show “Splash”

According to TMZ.com, the Armstrong apparently got fatigued when he was practicing dives off the edge of a pool and couldn’t pull himself up a ladder to get out. Seeing that he was having trouble and starting to slip underneath the water, Suh and former Olympic diver Greg Louganis jumped in the pool and physically lifted the comedian out of danger.

Armstrong appeared to be okay after the incident as he coughed up water on the pool’s deck.

Despite Suh’s actions the incident involving Armstrong should only add to the Lions’ fears of their star defensive tackle getting hurt during these offseason stunts. Suh’s teammates reportedly called his decision to be on the show a mistake, especially considering he’s in the middle of a five-year, $68 million dollar deal with the Lion.

“Splash” is scheduled to air on ABC this coming Spring.
