Stan Van Gundy: The Pistons have had “some level of conversation” about Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving

With the Cleveland Cavaliers continuing to mull over offers for disgruntled guard Kyrie Irving, you can throw the Pistons into the pool of teams looking to acquire the all-star.

According to head coach and team president Stan Van Gundy, the Pistons have had “some level of conversation” regarding Irving. This is according to Keith Langlois of Pistons.com.

Who the Pistons were offering will more than likely remain a mystery unless an unlikely deal gets done between the two teams. However it’s been mentioned before that Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson are both on the block so you can probably start with them when discussing a any possible scenario.

I doubt those two together plus another throw in gets Irving to Detroit. Then again we can revisit the weak return Chicago received for Jimmy Butler who actually plays defense – unlike Irving.

The Pistons also signed Langston Galloway to a three-year, $21 million dollar deal this offseason and acquired Avery Bradley last month so help in the back court isn’t a necessity for Detroit. Then again if the opportunity of acquiring one of the better guards in the NBA presents itself to you, you’re not turning your head or letting calls go to voicemail.
