According to Chris Iott of Mlive.com who cites a report from the Detroit News, Pistons point guard Rodney Stuckey was benched for the entire game Sunday against the Celtics for refusing to re-enter the game Friday night against the Bulls.

Pistons head coach John Kuester did not give an exact reason why Stuckey didn’t play but did indicate that Stuckey did something the keep him on the bench in Boston.

“This is a growing process,” Kuester said. “And in that growing process, he had a slight setback.”

Will Bynum ended up starting in place of Tracy McGrady at the point Friday night due to McGrady having some issues with his legs. Kuester mentioned that he gave Stuckey the option of either starting or coming of the bench Friday in which Stuckey chose the bench.

I’m still trying to figure out exactly what Stuckey has done in his career that warrants this type of behavior? This is just another reason why the Pistons to rid themselves of Rodney Stuckey.
