The Associated Press by way of ESPN.com is reporting that the University of Michigan and Ohio State University could be in line to play an outdoor hockey game at Progressive Field, the home of the Cleveland Indians. A person with knowledge of the negotiations indicated that the game would take place sometime in January.
Michigan and Ohio State both play in the CCHA and the game would be considered a home game for the Buckeyes.
Last December Michigan played an outdoor game at Michigan Stadium against bitter in state rival Michigan State. That game drew more than 100,000 fans. In 2001 Michigan State hosted the Wolverines at Spartan Stadium.
