The Force has been strong with the Pistons lately and that continued Friday night as Detroit first blew a 19 point lead only to go on and beat the Atlanta Hawks 85-84 from the Palace.
It looked as though that large second half lead had completely evaporated when Al Horford hit a three pointer with about five seconds remaining to tie things up at 85 a piece. However after further review the officials ruled that Horford’s toe was on the three point line thus knocking a point off and preserving the Detroit’s one point advantage.
Atlanta wasn’t done though.
On a Tayshaun Prince inbound Atlanta was able to intercept the pass and call a quick time out with one last chance to win the game with just about 4 seconds left. However on Atlanta’s own inbound on the other end Lou Williams’ three point attempt was deflected by rookie Andre Drummond as Detroit held on to win their fourth straight game and the sixth of their last seven games.
Austin Daye continued his hot streak scoring 20 points on his 9 of 11 night. Jason Maxiell had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Charlie Villanueva got himself into foul trouble early resulting in a scoreless night.
