In the midst of contract extension talks, Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has decided to switch agents.

According to the Sports Business Journal (via ESPN) the three-time Pro Bowler Suh has left Relativity Sports to find new representation.

“We have tremendous respect for Ndamukong and I think we’ve expressed to him an interest in him being here and he’s expressed an interest in staying here,” Lewand said last week. “We’ll see where that takes us and what the timing of that is.

“But he stopped by today to see coach [Jim] Caldwell and I think he’s another guy who can benefit from the leadership that Jim is going to bring and the staff that he’s going to come up with.”

Next season Suh is scheduled to make $22.4 million with a base actual of around $12.55 million. Getting Suh signed to an extension prior to the start of the season would be extremely beneficial for the Lions and especially the front office who still has to get some talent (especially in the secondary) to make that push for the playoffs next season. Obviously this leaves some questions as to what his could possibly mean for that contract extension. Is this an indication that he wants to stay and is frustrated over not getting a deal done sooner? Or is it the other way around?
