Lions

The Lions are once again back at the .500 mark and dare I say it… a possible playoff team?

For the second straight week, the Matt Prater was able to hit a timely field goal in the final minutes to beat the Los Angeles Rams 31-28.

Matthew Stafford 23/31 for 270 yards and four touchdowns all of which were to different targets. Golden Tate secured eight receptions for 165 yards and one touchdown, Anquan Boldin had 60 yards and one touchdown, Andre Roberts had 13 yards and one touchdown while Marvin Jones, whose most notably been Stafford’s favorite target only had two receptions for 10 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile in the absence of Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick and Dwayne Washington, Zach Zenner did everything he could to pick up the slack rising for 58 yards on 14 attempts. The newly acquired Justin Forsett had five touches for five yards.

On the flip, the Lions defense had a tough time containing Rams quarterback Case Keenum as he totaled 321 yards, on 27/32  passing with three touchdowns and one interception. The same could be said for Kenny Britt who was causing all sorts of havoc for the Detroit secondary securing seven receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns. This included a circus catch between his legs as he was falling to the ground.

Back to Matt Prater though whose been the savior for sorts for the Lions this season. In all three of Detroit’s win this season, Prater has been able to hit a go ahead field goal in the final 1:30.

Next week the Lions will welcome in former Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins back into town for a 1 PM contest against Washington.
