Lions

Looking to shore up their linebacker position the Lions signed former Falcons LB Paul Worrilow according to his agent by way of ProFootballTalk.com.

After signing with Atlanta as an undrafted free agent back in 2013, Worrilow was able to work himself into starter for his first three seasons with the team before primarily working in a special teams role last season. Via Mlive.com:

Worrilow, 26, caught on with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Delaware. The 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker started 42 of 47 games from 2013-2015, topping 100 tackles all three years before falling back into a reserve role last year. Worrilow had 18 tackles and two fumble recoveries in 12 games with one start during Atlanta’s run to the Super Bowl last season.

Worrilow has proven to be a decent defender in coverage which was a big problem when the Lions asked a guy like Tahir Whitehead to fall into that role. Other than that Worrilow hasn’t shown to provide much when it comes to the pass rush and ability to stop the run. Like I mentioned though the struggle has been real for the Lions when it comes to any production out of their linebackers so Worrilow will get his shot at a starter once again.
