According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Detroit Lions are a possible destination for Eagle cornerback Asante Samuel. Other teams that could be a potential landing spot include Cleveland, San Diego, Tampa Bay and Tennessee.

Detroit though is a very intriguing option considering their need for an upgrade in their defensive backfield and the fact that Samuel was almost shipped to Detroit prior to last season.

McLane further reported that during the NFL league meetings the Eagles were hinting that Samuel could be on the block and that a deal could be reached leading up to the NFL Draft on April 26th. Furthermore Samuel recently stated that he would be willing to restructure his contract if it led to a trade out of Philadelphia.

The 31-year-old Samuel is set to earn $9.5 million dollars this upcoming season.
