As we mentioned Thursday, recently demoted Tigers 3B Brandon Inge may be drawing interest from the Florida Marlins.

However could the Tigers strike a deal with the Marlins where the Tigers would get Florida closer Leo Nunez?

MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro says Nunez is drawing interest from several teams and with the Marlins possibly looking at Inge and with the Tigers looking for more pitching help it seems as though this could lead to a swap between the two teams.

Inge is still owed a ton of money by the Tigers so it’s hard to see a deal getting done involving Inge without the Tigers absorbing a good portion of Inge’s contract or the Tigers taking on an equally bad contract.

Nunez, who has 27 saves in 30 chances, could end up as an alternative for teams pursuing Heath Bell, especially if the price for the Padres’ closer gets too high.
