WATCH: Eight Lions and the singer took to a knee during the National Anthem

Eight Lions players and even the singer of today’s National Anthem took to a knee prior to today’s game against the Falcons from Ford Field. Those players included Charles Washington, A’Shawn Robinson, Akeem Spence, Jeremiah Ledbetter, Steve Longa, Ameer Abdullah, Tahir Whitehead and Jalen Reeves-Maybin.

Those players were eventually joined by singer Rico Lavelle who dropped to a knee at the conclusion of the Star Spangled Banner while players on both sides locked arms in solidarity. Owners Martha Ford for Detroit and Arthur Blank for Atlanta were also on the field locking arms with the players as the NFL continued this Sunday to show defiance toward Donald Trump‘s comments to suspend or “fire” players who engaged in the silent protest against racial injustice in the United States.
