In traditional Majors fashion, we cannot help but look ahead prematurely to events that are months away. This time we aren’t alone in taking a look at what bowl games (if any) Michigan State and Michigan could be headed too come bowl season.
David Goricki of the Detroit News posted on the Detroit News website ESPN.com’s and CBSSports.com’s projections on the two in state Big Ten teams.
According to ESPN.com writers Mark Schlabach and Andrea Adelson Michigan State will take on South Carolina in the Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day. Schlabach also has Michigan facing Florida in the Capital One Bowl while Adelson has the Wolverines facing LSU in the Gator Bowl.
Now according to CBSSports.com Michigan State will be playing Florida in the Outback Bowl while Michigan would entertain Kansas State in the Texas Bowl on December 29th.
I’m still going to maintain my prediction for Michigan that they go 6-6 to finish out the season. Obviously that would mean they would have only one victory the rest of the way which I believe comes on November 6th at Illinois. Furthermore I’m still going to predict that with a 6-6 record that Michigan gets a bowl invitation that gets rejected by UM Athletic Director David Brandon furthermore resulting in the termination of head coach Rich Rodriguez. This is all despite the tough schedule Michigan has the rest of the way.
Michigan State is different considering they have a much easier schedule then Michigan. I have them going 10-2 with loses against Iowa and Penn State both on the road.
