Still without a contract, has a decision already been made on the future of Tigers manager Brad Ausmus?

The Tigers’ skipper believes Al Avila has in fact come to a decision on his future with the team as Detroit looks to finish out a disastrous season. A season in which they’ll more than likely lose 90-plus games for the first time in 12 seasons.

“I would imagine,” Ausmus said, according to MLB.com’s Jason Beck prior to the team’s Wednesday matinee against Oakland. “I mean, Al’s known me for four years.”

Since taking over from Jim Leyland back in 2014, Ausmus found early success winning the division in his first season before free falling from there to a current 312-323 overall record. Likewise he’s the definition of a lame duck manager especially considering he’s gone this long into the season without even a hint of a contract extension which may in fact be the writing on the wall in terms of his future. Moreover Ausmus has also refused to say as to whether or not he’d like to even make a return next season according to  George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press.
