In addition to Steve Slaton, the Lions are also reportedly going to take another look at free agent running back Ryan Grant. This is according to Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com.
Steve Slaton not the only RB heading to Detroit for a workout … Ex-Packer Ryan Grant is as well

The Lions offered a deal to Grant during the spring however the two sides ultimately couldn’t agree on the money. The recent reports also come at an interesting time considering suspended running back Mikel Leshoure is expected to make his return this weekend in Tennessee. In his absence the Lions have relied on Kevin Smith and Joique Bell who had a stand out catch and run play against the 49ers Sunday night.
If the Lions bring Grant or Slaton aboard they would have to make a corresponding move to make room on the roster. At this point it would seem that Bell would be the odd man out however ProFootballTalk.com mentions that given the Lions’ offensive scheme thus far, adding Grant or Slaton really wouldn’t make that much of a difference.
