Datsyuk signs with Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL

on

According to Ansar Khan of Mlive.com, Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk has signed on with Russian club Ak Bars Kazan of the Kontinental Hockey League.

Datsyuk is one of many Red Wings who will more than likely head to Europe to play during the duration of the NHL lockout which officially started at Midnight on September 15th. Datsyuk though along with any other Wings that decide to play overseas will return to Detroit once the lockout is settled.

Datsyuk’s return to Ak Bars Kazan is a homecoming of sorts as this was the last team he played for back in 2000-01 before making the jump to the NHL. He also played for Moscow Dynamo during the last NHL work stoppage back in 2004-05.
