Tigers/White Sox postponed, rescheduled for Monday

Thursday’s heavyweight matchup that saw first place in the AL Central on the line between the Tigers and White Sox from U.S. Cellular has been postponed. Instead the game has been rescheduled for this coming Monday with the stakes still yet to be determined.

Verlander, who was set to take on Chicago’s Chris Sale will more than likely get the start Friday night in Cleveland against the Indians.

As far as Monday goes, the scheduled start time is set for 2:10PM ET and could see a rematch of game two between Doug Fister and Jake Peavy. In last Tuesday’s game Fister dominated the White Sox going seven innings allowing just two runs on two hits while striking out six. Meanwhile Peavy went 5 and 2/3rds innings allowing three runs on six hits with nine strikeouts.

With Detroit taking on the Tribe, Chicago will head north to take on the Minnesota Twins for a weekend series from Target Field.
