Pistons forward and Swedish National team member Jonas Jerebko got glowing remarks by Team USA’s LeBron James when asked to give his opinion on the Swedes games. This is according to the Detroit Free Press’ Brian Manzullo who cites a member of the Swedish media…
“Jerebko’s a good player. No, I mean, he’s a really good player. He’s doing so much for his team,” James said. “He can play at different positions, he’s good at rebounds, he’s good in defense.
“He’s already a shining star in Detroit. And he is just going to get better and better.”
The only NBA player from Sweden, Jerebko has shown at times that he does possess the skills needed to fully make that transition from the European to North American game, yet he is still unpolished. He’s averaged only 9.0 ppg over his first two NBA seasons, but he’s shot a solid 47.5 percent from the field.
Jerebko is also going to have to work harder this upcoming season if he wants more playing time considering the logjam of forwards the Pistons currently have.
