The Eagles are making their way up in next week’s NFL Draft.
The team announced Wednesday that they acquired the No. 2 overall pick from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a package of picks this season as well as next year’s first round pick and a 2018 second round pick.

Here’s how the trade breaks down for both teams:
Going to Cleveland: This year’s 1st round (8th overall), 3rd round (77th overall), and 4th round (100th overall) picks, plus a 2017 1st rounder, and a 2018 2nd rounder.
Going to Philadelphia: This year’s 2nd overall pick, plus a fourth round pick next year.
You have to assume that no move like this is made by the Eagles unless they’re going after a quarterback whether that be Jared Goff or Carson Wentz. Then again the Eagles also recently extended Sam Bradford and signed Chase Daniel to a contract that really doesn’t signify he’ll be regulated to the bench the entire year. Philly has also come out and said they won’t deal Bradford (assuming they draft a QB with the 2nd overall pick) and believe they’ve created a situation where a rookie quarterback doesn’t have to start early.
Fair, but the an even bigger question arises (which can be applied to the Rams as well) is Carson Wentz and/or Jared Goff Worth the glutton of picks given up by both Los Angeles and the Eagles?
Probably not.
Either way this is only the second time in the last 40 years the top two picks in the draft have been traded. This is also the first time the Eagles have been in the top two since 1999 when they drafted Donovan McNabb.
