According to CBS Detroit, the Wayne County’s Prosecutor’s Office received a warrant request for Tigers pitcher Evan Reed.
The Prosecutor’s Office wouldn’t identify Reed by name but did mention the the warrant request was for a 28-year old Tigers player who was involved alleged incident that took place at the Motor City Casino on March 30th. Reports surfaced last month that, Reed (who is 28) was accused by a 45-year old woman that he drugged and raped her at the Casino’s hotel back in late March.
The woman alleges that she met Reed at a bar in Royal Oak, where she consumed several drinks and danced before blacking out. The next morning the woman allegedly woke up in a Motor City Casino hotel room, lying naked next to Reed in a bed. Reports say there was evidence on the sheets that the woman had been sexually assaulted. When the woman got up to take a shower, Reed apparently asked her to leave his room.
No charges against Reed have been filed but the Prosecutor’s Office said they’d comb through the evidence and come to a decision on the request later in the week. Reed has reportedly been cooperating with with authorities in their investigation.
