Red Wings' Henrik Zetterberg had surgery today to remove part of disc in his back. Team said it went well. Might be out 8 weeks but not sure

Zetterberg, who has been bothered by ongoing back problems this season played in one Olympic game for team Sweden before being shelved for the remainder of the tournament after re-aggravating a herniated disc. Initially it was believed that the injury could keep him out for the rest of the NHL season so I guess the eight weeks is kind of good news. Still if the 8 weeks holds true he will be out for the remainder of the regular season and make his way be in the beginning of the first round. All while the Red Wings are in the middle of a playoff race.
