Friday night Yankees designated hitter Alex Rodriguez got his 3,000th career hit via a solo home run off Tigers starter Justin Verlander. It was quite the accomplishment considering only 29 other players in MLB history have reached that milestone while it was undoubtedly apparent that plenty of resentment still persists among Yankees fans. Look at the celebration of Jeter’s 3,000th hit compared to A-Rod, there isn’t any comparison which isn’t surprising at all.

What else isn’t surprising is the New York media’s reaction to A-Rod’s milestone. The pull no punches Big Apple press did just that… pulled no punches.

Of course this will continue to re-hash the steroid debate despite baseball’s all intensive pursuit to introduce PEDs into the game during the late 90’s.
