REPORT: Tigers trade Doug Fister to the Nationals



UPDATE: It has been confirmed that the Tigers will receive second baseman Steve Lombardozzi, lefty Ian Krol, and left-handed pitching prospect Robbie Ray.

UPDATE: The multiple players look to be prospects. This could be a pure salary dump on the Tigers end.

Ken Rosenthal is also speculating that the Baltimore Orioles currently in discussions to trade closer Jim Johnson with the Dodgers and an unspecified club involved.

UPDATE: It looks like multiple players could be coming back to Detroit from the Nationals for Fister.

It looks as though Dave Dombrowski isn’t done done dealing.

According to preliminary reports the Detroit Tigers have traded right handed starter Doug Fister to the Washington Nationals.

Coming back Detroit’s way?

Well that hasn’t been announced yet.

However, Cotillo is speculating that a couple of names are being speculated on that could be coming to the Tigers in exchange for Fister.

Lynn Henning of the Detroit News speculates that multiple names could be involved from the Tigers organization, including middle of the infield prospects.
