Despite the 7-game losing streak and impending loss of Danny DeKeyser for the next 1-2 weeks with a separated shoulder the Red Wings may find some solace in the report that they are on the verge of signing d-man Jonathan Ericsson to a contract extension.
The news was first reported by TSN’s Bob McKenzie who says the deal could be in and around four to five years and include a cap hit around $4 million per season (or maybe a little higher).
On bright side, D Jonathan Ericsson on verge of signing extension with DET. Guessing 4 or 5 yrs, somewhere in $4M range, maybe touch higher.
