Dave Dombrowski and the Tigers seem to holding true to their attempts in finding a free agent closer this offseason.
According to Jon Morosi and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports that in addition to Joe Nathan the Tigers are also interested in veteran closer Brian Wilson.
Tigers interested in free agent reliever Brian Wilson, sources tell @Ken_Rosenthal and me. They would like Wilson or Joe Nathan.

Now obviously there is some concern surrounding Wilson who appeared in only 18 games for the Dodgers last season after rehabbing from his second career Tommy John surgery. However in those 18 games Wilson allowed just one run in 19 2/3 innings while his fast ball seemingly returned to it’s pre surgery velocity at 94.4 mph down ever so slightly from 94.9 mph.
But how will Wilson hold up over the course of an entire season?
Currently MLB Trade Rumors projects that Wilson will receive a 1-year, $8.5 million dollar contract for the 2014 season so there is some risk signing money-wise. However if Wilson does in fact get a one-year deal the Tigers could spare themselves from another Troy Percival disaster which Wilson could (and I stress could) become for not just Detroit but any team that goes all in for him (Wilson) on a multi year deal.
