Aaron Crow just got Miggyed.
Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera continued to be inhuman Saturday night as his walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th off Kansas City reliever Aaron Crow gave the Tigers a 6-5 win over the Royals halting a two-game losing streak.
Starter Doug Fister went 6 and 1/3rd innings allowing three earned runs on 1o hits with 6 strikeouts to get the no decision. Closer Joaquin Benoit picked up the win after pitching a scoreless top half of the 9th.
Manager Jim Leyland and catcher Brayan Pena were both ejected in the fourth inning after Fister threw a pitch that bounced in front of the plate prior to Kansas City’s Alcides Escobar appearing to foul the ball. Pena asked for a new ball however home plate umpire Mike Muchlinski said it was a wild pitch as Chris Getz advanced to third base. It was here that Leyland was ejected before Escobar doubled down the third base line scoring Getz from third. Pena was then subsequently ejected for continuing to argue.
None the less Cabrera’s late inning dramatics finally resulted in a Tigers win.
